Things in America have changed since September 11, 2001.  With lives lost; businesses destroyed; and life seeming unsettled in general, we are all seeing impacts in our own lives.   But, what has happened since thousands of people from 80+ countries were killed by mindless terrorists has been nothing short of phenomenal, or "awesome" as our children would say.  People have come together in a myriad of ways, and friends from around the US and worldwide have shown compassion for our friends and neighbors. 

I think it's fair to say many of us have never really shown strong patriotic urges to Stand Up for America.  Suddenly, we see flags flying and people expressing Pride in America in amazing ways.  There's a lump in our throats as we watch this continue and spread.  America is United. Americans can and will work together, with the help of our neighbors in other countries.  In the darkest of times, American Spirit shines brightly.

As we contemplate how we can help in our own way, we've come up with several things that we want to do. It's important that we all try to continue to move America forward. We need to show our economic confidence while we put our minds and hands together to help America come through this tragedy as an even stronger country.

We're just one small family company,  but we firmly believe every little bit does help.  We've been in the goat industry for 30+ years.  We've met some wonderful people, and we know our goat community can come together at a time of need.

WHAT WE'RE DOING...

We're going to have a GiveAway program that we hope will generate interest and support from our fellow goat breeders and other interested people.  You can win your choice of one of the following prizes:

HOW TO WIN...

• For every person who signs up for our new Goat Discussion Forum and posts one message, we will be donating $1.00 to the American Veterinary Medical Association.  See more information.
  Your cost:  Nothing, unless you want to match our donation.  When you sign up and post, your name goes into our database for one chance.  THIS IS THE ONLY REQUIREMENT FOR ENTERING.  YOU MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE FORUM AND POST ONE MESSAGE.

The following will give you more chances to win....

You may ask, what's in it for Khimaira?  Well, there are multiple things.  First, it is personally satisfying to see people come together for things like Benefit Auctions or donations to charities.  Next, we're doing our part to help invigorate the American economy, even if it is small in comparison to what larger companies can do.  If we can help one extra person attend the ADGA convention who may not have been able to, we're glad to support the local group and ADGA.  We may even find a new customer or two.  But even if only our "old" customers participate, it's a small way we can give out a reward for your patronage.

We also want to announce another change.  We have decided to give away all advertising in our online goat directory, The Whole Goat Catalog.  There will be some Guidelines to follow for eligibility.  We want to set a standard of professionalism, as we want our Catalog to set a high standard of quality.  There will be no set charge.  We will accept donations, if you feel you are benefiting from being listed.   So whether or business is larger or small, you can become a part of our effort to show off the many folks who either raise goats or sell items or offer services for goat owners.   Here are the details.
