Here's a recipe that was up on Nubian Talk a couple years ago, a natural bug
spray. The extra oils in the mix help to condition their coats as well and
kills the flies at the same time. For use on livestock or pets only, DO NOT
use on humans or pregnant does as the pennyroyal causes abortion.

4 qts water, 1 cup Basic H (shaklee) or Bronners liquid castile peppermint
or lavender soap, 1/2 cup "Red Arrow" pyrethrin -rotenone insecticide
concentrate - look at garden shops & organic gardening outlets
1 Tblsp. eucalyptus Essential Oil
1 Tsp. citronella E.O.
1 Tsp. Cedar E.O.
1 Tsp. Lavendar E.O.
1 Tsp. Pennyroyal E.O.
1 Tsp. Peppermint E.O.
3 drops sandalwood E.O. optional
Mix ingredients and pour into a spray bottle, shake bottle before spraying
and use only a small amount. Re-apply about every 12 to 24 hours.

repels mosquitos, Noo-seeums, flies, knats, feas, tics, deer flies, horse
flies, wasps.

For human use, omit the Red Arrow.

This recipe originated from Scott Coe.
